While yes, it is really sad that he has been diagnosed with leukemia, it ought to be a very private thing. Now people might start to look at him like that poor little hockey player who shouldn't be damaged.
Not only that, but I think that something like this maybe shouldn't be so publicized like it has been. It ought to be something private and personal.

While I would hope that the media would respect his privacy if he requested it, I think it's a great message of perserverance and hope to put out into the world: "look, i am not letting cancer stop me." He's heroic to all the people out there struggling with various illnesses... not too mention everyone else who is forunate enough to have their health and struggling to find the determination to achieve!
